We need to move past theories and discussions and get into action mode !!

Recently, I have been part of a growing number of discussions both in person and online around ways we can improve and elevate the function.

There are obviously huge gaps in the way the people function operates and it also varies market to market and types of companies. We have generally establish that privately owned family businesses are far behind in the overall scheme of things. Unfortunately, in many cases it is led by owners/leaders of the business who are still not convinced as to the value the people function brings and therefore HR is 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱/𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱. Even in MNCs, at operating company level, the level of support is not as great as it should be sometimes.

HR leaders have been discussing many things and have great thoughts and ideas on this. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀. 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

What we need is to move past discussions and ideas and into action. 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲/𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽.

These can help companies who want to move ahead but dont have the resources or expertise or many times cannot afford to get help. If nothing else, there are always 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗥 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 but cannot finding relevant materials.

We have deep expertise in each part of the function and its unfortunate that we have not channeled in a more practical way that benefits everyone. 𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

The cumulative mind power and intellectual horsepower of the experts in the function needs to be funneled and channeled. I know many who will be willing to share, contribute and interested in this. I absolutely am.
