Employees need structure and clarity if nothing else.

After speaking to a senior leader yesterday about his organization and current challenges, I realized that while employee wants.

  • Freedom
  • Decision making autonomy
  • No micromanagement

They still want clarity on what needs to be and within a basic structure that supports what they want to do.

In my own experience in the past 20 years, I realized that employees want a foundation, they want context and #transparency. The HR team team of one of the most recognized ecommerce companies said the same to me. They are excited by their jobs and what they can achieve, but they are limited by lack of structure, direction from senior leaders and #transparency .

Organizations are built on #structures , a solid foundation upon which you grow. In HR, this is even more important because structure not only brings stability, it ensures fairness, equity, gives leaders ability to expand and push and allows employees to understand better where they sit.

This is one of the reasons I have been spending a lot of time educating companies and leaders around 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻, discussions on 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 and 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. This is the foundation, basis of a structure that will drive most of the work we do in #hr.

I seen the impact directly on what a good or a bad #organizationaldesign does to a company. I strongly encourage business owners and leaders to consider this at all time.
